Modular Dwellings was founded by Edgar Blazona a furniture designer, builder and welder specializing in modernism. The company designs small modular buildings. The designs are simple, clean, versatile and are easy to transport and assemble.

With its clean minimalist lines Modular Dwelling embodies California’s new Prefab Architectural Movement.

These custom built dwellings blend minimalist styling, industrial materials and a modernists attention to detail to create a usable environment that is truly unique. Designed to be easy to transport, quick to assemble and aesthetically pleasing, the modular dwelling creates a living environment that is the ideal blend of form and function

Edagr Blazona is a furniture designer, builder and welder specializing in modernism. A San Francisco native, Edgar is the co-founder of the design firm “1994″.

The San Francisco Examiner, praised the design work of 1994 for its clean lines, surprising juxtaposition and superb workmanship and singled out Edgar as a designer whose goals…”simplicity, function and cost effectiveness” place him squarely in the middle of the of the current modernism movement. Several 1994 design pieces were displayed at the Bergamont Station Arts Centre in Los Angeles and the entire line was carried by the San Francisco’s Linm Gallery

Edgar was also part of the team that designed and built Michael Boyds House in Oakland one of the Bay Area’s leading collectors of mid century furniture.

In 1998 Edgar designed and built a modern, minimalist house for David Otto in San Fransisco. After completion of the Otto house he joined Pottery Barn working as a furniture designer for four and a half years, In 2001 Edgar was invited to design and carve a solid ice chaise lounge fo the lobby of the famous Ice Hotel in Sweeden.

Edgar recently launched a new project called Modular Dwellings – mobile, modern and affordable buildings. By combining industrial manufacturing technquies and modernist design, the Modular Dwelling is a prime example of the excellent work coming out of California’s Prefab and Modular Design Movement.
