Jeriko House is a company that provides a proprietary aluminum modular building platform system similar to what is traditionally called a ‘kit-of-parts’ building system.

Founded by Shawn Burst in Louisiana Jeriko House designs and manufactures modern prefabricated modular homes intended to provide a versatile, consumer focused, environmentally friendly and easy to assemble prefab home.

Jeriko House view their building system as a platform, that allows collaboratation with suppliers, designers, and builders in radically new ways, providing expanding opportunities for home buyers to customize a home to their benefit and new opportunities for those in the home building and products industries to innovate.

The Jeriko House building system claims to offer all the benefits of pre-fab and modular architecture with none of their limitations. It does this by reducing its ‘modules’ to the scale of the very basic elements of a structure, frame, walls, windows, and all the fixtures that attach to them. This is what architects traditionally refer to as a ‘kit-of-parts’ building system -and one of the most sophisticated ever devised.

A Jeriko House is a ‘site built’ home (and qualifies as such by lenders) that still enjoys the full benefits of industrial fabrication with no limits on possible variation in design. Its individual parts may be factory-made and standardized in their interconnection, but they have an infinite variety of ways they can be put together. Thus you get the fit, finish, strength and sophistication of the best a factory can produce with unlimited freedom of design and personalization.

Loq-kit is a proposed system of mass-produced interchangeable and reusable and adaptable house parts.

Loq•kit was created by architect Patrick Freet in 2001 as a way to use the “components” to build affordable homes quickly assembled into many configurations.

The nature of the Loq-kit adaptable housing system is that each house constructed using this method is unique in layout and appearance.

Loq•kit house parts use snap-lock connections so that homeowners may adapt their homes to changing needs over time.

A Loq•kit adaptable house is assembled from three different components:

A modular metal frame,  modular infill panels, and modular snap-cladding.

Component sizes for each type are regulated by Loq•kit’s alternating grid sequence. 

At  time of this post the Loq•kit house parts are is unavailable commercially.

Kithaus designs modern living spaces using lightweight MHS aluminum framed modules. Modules may be used alone or in combination to form larger, custom structures. All components are pre-cut, marked and drilled and feature a patented clamping system that can be assembled in days.
